Potential red phosphor for white light emitting diodes (WLEDs)
Developed Scheelite and stannate pyrochlore based red phosphor materials such as CaLa1-xNbWO8: xEu3+, CaLaSnNbO7:xEu3+ . These phosphors are characterized by a sharp red emission with colour coordinates closer to the National Television Standards Committee (NTSC) standard red phosphors, luminescence life times of milli seconds order and good quantum efficiency. Thus the above phosphors could be a promising red candidate for the phosphor converted White Light Emitting Diodes (pc-WLEDs).
