Dr. Biswajit Saha obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemistry from the University of North Bengal. He earned his PhD in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER Kolkata) under the supervision of Prof. Priyadarsi De. He subsequently carried out postdoctoral research at Florida State University and Texas A&M University. In December 2025, Dr. Saha joined the Materials Science & Technology Division at CSIR-NIIST as a Ramanujan Fellow. Dr. Saha’s research interests focus on the design of sustainable polymers, instant and tough adhesives, novel stimuli-responsive systems, and stereoretentive metathesis polymerization. He is a recipient of the prestigious Ramanujan Fellowship, a Gold Medal for academic excellence in his master’s degree, and the INSPIRE-SHE scholarship. Dr. Saha also serves as a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals, including Macromolecules, ACS Applied Polymer Materials, Chemical Communications, New Journal of Chemistry, and so forth.
