Food-waste Bioenergy

Food Waste Bioenergy

  • Advantages :
    • Compact size
    • No freshwater consumption
    • It can take any food waste
    • Scalable to accommodate more food waste
    • Less slurry out, highly stable, the can be used as manure
    • Even large units can be portable
    • Yields more biogas with higher methane content (~200 Lit/kg food waste)
    • No vector problems
  • Commerical Status : Already Commercialised
  • Technology Readiness Level : Market Launch Industrial Application : CleanTech Waste management
  • Research Area :
  • Description :Anaerobic Digestion (Bio-methanation) of food waste is one of the recommended sustainable ways of treating food waste. The conventional Biogas plants have inherent limitations such as large foot print, fresh water consumption, less biogas yield, more discharge slurry often with foul smell, vector breeding, etc.
It is a Solid-State Bio-methanation system for food waste, which is a better substitute for existing biogas plants especially for Corporations and Municipal areas.
