The Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR) is a world class research academy functioning at 38 CSIR, 28 ICMR and 14 other Associated Research Institutes with Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical and Information Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Madical Research faculty in PhD and IDDP program.
AcSIRwas established by an Act of Parliament, the Academy of Scientific Innovative Research Act, 2011 (The Gazette of India No.15 dated February 7, 2012 and notified on April 3, 2012). AcSIR has adopted the mandate to create and train the best of tomorrow’s S&T leaders through a combination of innovative and novel curricula, pedagogy and evaluation.
Admission for Ph.D. programs in CSIR-NIIST under the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) will be held twice a year (January and August session) and will be advertised separately in the AcSIR and CSIR-NIIST website.
