CSIR-NIIST will undertake new initiatives designed to serve as a hub for research, development, and entrepreneurial activities, supported by AI-ML, big-data, prototyping and designing, and IP.
Focus Areas
- Centre of Excellence in Ayurveda Research and manufacturing and standardization hub for AYUSH products
- Biomanufacturing units, including functional foods, bioproducts and nutraceuticals
- A production line for biopolymers, and bio-based products as alternatives to plastics and animal leather
- A solar allied hydrogen production plant from waste water
- Regional Resources Development Hub (Rubber, Coir, and Spices)
